International Blog Delurking Week 2014

Totally stealing this idea from the Stirrup Queen. She says, "Back in the olden days of the Internet, the first full week of January was declared International Delurking Week, and I still celebrate this ancient holiday. It runs this year from the 5th until the 12th, so you have seven days to slither out of the reading closet and check in with an “I'm here” comment."

I'd love to know more about my readers, especially since I only get comments from a handful of you (thank you for leaving them!) If you're feeling brave, leave a comment below with a simple "hey" or some information about yourself. Let me know how you're doing. Are you still battling infertility, are you pregnant or parenting? I've been wanting to start a new T.V. series, so give me suggestions (preferably ones that are on Netflix.)

As always, thank you so much for reading and supporting us on this journey. We love you guys!

And............go!

  1. I'm here! But you knew that. We have been watching Trailer Park Boys...it's hysterical. It's about white trash petty criminals who live in a trailer park in Canada. It's one of those shows where you can just fall asleep at night while watching it. Have you checked out Orange is the new black? I can't say I loved it but I did watch the whole season and was entertained. I'm anxiously awaiting the new season of Game of Thrones...

    1. I've heard good things about Orange is the New Black, and I believe Keegan's watched an episode or two, but I haven't yet. Maybe that's what we'll start next.

We LOVE Game of Thrones, but we've only watched through season two because we borrowed the DVDs from one of Keegan's friends. We don't have cable which means we don't get HBO so we can't keep current on it. I'm debating buying the third season DVDs so we can catch up.

  2. Hey! I'm a mom of three (who is slightly panicking because my two boys' holiday break has been extended because of frigid temps and they have no way to burn off the unreal amount of energy they have since they have been cooped up indoors for too many days in a row). Anyway, I have eclectic taste in shows. Right now Downton tops my list, and Scandal is a close second.

    1. I couldn't imagine having the kids for an extended break, they must be going (and driving you) crazy! I've heard good things about Downton Abby, it's definitely on my "to watch" list.

  3. HI! Just found you from your comment at Mel's. What are chocolate cream cheese cookies? I'd love the recipe!

Congrats on your pregnancy! May it be an easy and healthy one.
I'm finally a mom to a 1yr4mo boy who is full of life and all boy. LOL

I have no idea what is on Netflix or not, but some of the shows my hubby and I have watched over the (recent) years are: Orange is the New Black, Lost Girl, Elementary, Sherlock, Castle, Person of Interest, Nikita, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Warehouse 13, Almost Human, Continuum, Breaking Bad, SuperNatural, Dr Who, etc.
These ones are shorter shows, so quick watches (esp without commercials). Usually funny and great for a quick laugh or if you just want to watch something short before passing out before bed (that's me): Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Two Broke Girls
Yeah, we've watched quite a bit of stuff...

  5. Oh I've been known to be quite the delurker. Fortunately, I've come to realize the value in commenting (both receiving and leaving) in this community.

You know my story. As for new shows, I'm in a similar search. I want to subscribe to Netflix because I feel like there are so many shows that people talk about that I've missed. If you are a fan of period dramas, or anything British aristocracy (like I am), check out Downton Abbey. It's amazing. The 4th season started yesterday, but 1 and 2 are on Netflix. It airs on PBS.

    1. We LOVE Netflix, in fact we like it so much that we didn't bother getting cable. We don't really watch many cable shows, and any of them that we enjoy, we don't mind waiting a few extra weeks to see them on Netflix. I've heard so many good things about Downton Abbey, so its definitely on my to watch list!

  7. This month is four years for us. Can't bring ourselves to make a science baby have never gone further than a couple unmonitored clomid cycles. Hoping to get our affairs in order to possibly be state approved for foster to adopt by the end of the year.
We are cable-less TV show whores...I don't know where to begin but will second every single show above and add Chuck (which is definitely on netflix.)

    1. I am so in awe of couples who put their hearts on the line for foster children. I admire your strength and courage, I'm not sure it's something I could do; however we do hope to adopt in the future.

I've heard good things about Chuck, just never made time to watch it. Thanks for the recommendation!

  8. Argh, Blogger ate my comment, so here's the shorter version of my ramble:

    * Don't feel guilty. I mean, you totally should feel whatever you feel, and that's completely cool. But you're a wonderful, kind-hearted person, and there's no need for feeling guilty.

    * My sis took over a year to conceive, and she said it didn't really feel real until she heard the heartbeat.

    * Recommended TV shows: Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Warehouse 13. Archer. Venture Bros. How I Met Your Mother. (If you tell me what kind of shows you like, I can give you more suggestions.)

    1. Thanks for the kind words Liz <3

We're really trying to find shows that Keegan and I can watch together. He'll watch my girlie shows with me, but I think he'd appreciate something else for sure. I know he likes Venture Bros.

    2. Thank you, Aislinn.

According to netflix: "A team of individuals gifted with extraordinary neurological abilities is tasked with solving a series of high-profile crimes. Among them are an autistic man whose mind works as fast as a computer and an FBI agent with super strength."

Think X-men, but not as much super-hero.

    3. Oooooh I do love me some X-men so this show will be right up our alley. Thanks for the suggestion!
